Good Pack, Annoying Buckle Placement

I've had this pack for 6 months now, and my only complaint (aside from it being made in china) is the placement of the receiving end of the buckles. They have been sewn to the pack right next to the zipper. Every time you open or close the zipper the buckles lay across the zipper path and prevent it from opening/closing. It's really annoying when you only have one hand available to open your pack, and you have to set everything down to move the buckles out of the way.

6 Years of Use and Still Going Strong

I bought this bag around six years ago and it's still holding up after countless cases of abuse. I used it to lug around my laptop and binders throughout all four years of college and now I am using it to keep my important belongings alongside of me for my long commute to work everyday.

I'll start with the cons of this backpack s there is only one: I do not like the side pockets. It seems like a small thing, but in everyday use it's a pain for me. I feel like replacing one or both of them with an elastic pocket would allow for them to hold a water bottle better. I have to put a water in the side pocket only to have to rezip the pocket constantly because the bottle sticks out of the top and my movement slowly unzips the zipper. Eventually the zipper can get so low on either side that the bottle just falls out on its own. That doesn't mean that they aren't useful, but I'd like one of them to be a dedicated bottle pocket like on most other bags.

Other than that, I have no other complaints. My favorite part is the small zippered pouch at the front that holds my wallet, keys, etc. The bag is breathable and comfortable while still being rugged. There is a good balance between having enough organization and not too much. The laptop pouch is soft and protects my laptop well and I can even fit my Sig P320 Compact in the back without too much discomfort. I can definitely recommend this bag and will be buying it again if the one I have now decides it'll finally die. Chef's kiss.
